UX/UI Design

DURATION: 6 WEEKS or 8 WEEKS (with website build service)

Need help with designing and building your website?

This project aims to produce a new website design by using user research and testing. With weekly check-in’s, your feedback is important as this will guide the direction of the design.

This is suited for businesses that want a fresh website look or are looking to build new landing pages for specific products or services, paid channels, etc.

Week 1: Survey

The first week will be focused on understanding your business problem and building out a survey to gather user insights.

  • Defining the problem - what problem is your business currently facing? We will be working backwards with the goal to present a solution that can address this issue.

  • Business model canvas - this helps us to identify how to best reach our respondents as well as understand our current audiences.

  • Survey questions - through a collaborative approach, questions will be defined together with the goal to understand the audience (in relation to your product or service) a bit better.

  • Survey data - we will require your assistance to push this survey out to the relevant respondents.

  • Survey collection - the survey will run for an open window of a week, and forms the crux of the project.

Week 2: Research Analysis, Audience Mapping & Mood Board Request

Based on survey results, we’ll synthesise key findings and emerge new insights.

  • Affinity mapping - based on the analysis of survey results, grouped themes will emerge to understand audience behaviours and perspectives.

  • Revisiting the problem with a HMW (i.e. how might we) statement - after survey analysis, we will revisit the initial problem (set out by you) and re-affirm through research whether we are solving for the right problem.

  • Empathy mapping - creating a holistic view of respondents based on survey data.

  • Persona mapping - creating key personas (i.e. “audience segments”) for your business based on similar traits/habits via survey data.

  • Customer journey mapping - to understand opportunity areas on where to best optimise in the customer journey.

Week 3: Design system

Based on your mood board, we’ll be diving into a suggested design system for your business. These include:

  • Colour system

  • Typography

  • Buttons

  • Form labels

  • Grid layouts

  • Icon system

Week 4: Ideation

After creating the design system, this week will focus on:

  • Crazy 8s - creating ideas on user interface formats and layouts.

  • Wireframes - building a blueprint or a “base” for your website or landing page.

  • UX architecture - forming a page hierarchy/layout for your website.

Week 5: Design & User Flows

Based on your choice of selection from the set of wireframes, our focus will turn to:

  • Prototypes - producing interactive prototypes based on the chosen wireframe selection.

  • User flows - to understand the different pathways a user may take and have the necessary actions in place to address these decisions.

Week 6: User Testing & Presentation

The last week will focus on:

  • User testing - gathering feedback through user interviews to identify initial sentiments, points of improvement and opportunity areas. Based on this feedback, the prototype will be optimised and updated (where appropriate).

  • Presentation - this will wrap up the six week journey and we will discuss how you can move forward with bringing these designs to life by solving for the right problem!

Week 7 - 8: Website Build

Keen to bring your design to life?

  • Week 7 - The website process check-in will give an overview update on the build, roadblocks on design implementation and present alternative options to move forward with.

  • Week 8 - Based on the previous week’s feedback, changes are updated as per the request of the client. The website process check-in will be a final review of the website, which will be listed as private on the platform of choice so you can launch it publicly, at your own discretion.

What platforms are supported?

The recommended website platform of choice is Squarespace. However, if you already have an existing website housed on a different platform - then Webflow, WiX and Wordpress is also supported.

What is included in this package?

  • Building the website - to be as similar as possible to the design prototype (caveats will be communicated and identified prior to the Week 7 check-in)

  • Mobile optimisation - to ensure your website is user-friendly on mobile, all content will be optimised accordingly.

  • Website maintenance tutorial - learn how to navigate the website management platform so after the completion of the project, you know how to best use the platform.

  • URL architecture - page URL suggestions will be produced, alongside the creation of parent pages and child pages to generate URL slugs.

  • SEO optimisation - based on existing content of the website, this will be optimised via the meta title and meta headline (which is organically searchable via Google).

  • Website migration - migrating your website from your old design to your new design (this will be a guided tutorial - only available for Squarespace)

Prerequisites:

  • If the business is an e-commerce website that features product listings, shopping cart and a checkout process then this service is not available as this sits outside of our expertise.

  • Without any coding involved, this service relies on years of experience with website management with a deep-rooted understanding of website mechanics.

  • During the website build, often alternative arrangements may need to be completed when presenting content due to limitations on widget availability.

  • For this service to be applicable, you need to have existing content ready to go.

Disclaimers

For our website design only service:

  • Coding notes will be added to assist website developers.

  • Additional support is also available if website developers require clarifications (in regard to the design) which can be communicated directly either through email or video calls.

  • There may be a waitlist for this service due to conflicting availability or workload.

There are two options available for UX/UI design - dependent on whether you prefer to have support for web design only, or to have this built out for you (availability pending prerequisites).
